FAQs - FM24 Save Game Compatibility

The following titles have the save game compatibility feature, allowing users to carry their saves forward:

• FM23 to FM24
• FM23 Console to FM24 Console
• FM23 Touch to FM24 Touch

As you can still locate the save files from your saved space, you don’t need to keep FM23 installed.

There is no need to have the game installed however you must still be to locate the save files. By default, this is at:  

• PC: <Documents>\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023\games   

• MAC: Users\[Your Mac Username]\Library\Application\Support\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023\games  

This will work even when switching from Steam to Epic.

Typically, you should still have the files available from the previous installation of FM23. If not can be downloaded here.

You must first launch FM23 via Epic, load the Cloud save and then save it locally. Only then will it be available to load in FM24. Instructions for this will be available in game.

There will be a How-To guide provided in each game when trying to load.

Yes, the In-Game Editor will work on games that have been transferred to FM24.

No, Store Items purchased or unlocked in FM23 will need to be repurchased or unlocked again in FM24. The one exception to this is Attribute Masking which is now available to all players without needing to be purchased or unlocked.

Consumable items which were applied to the save file but not yet used in the save will still be usable after transferring the save to FM24.

If a save is created on FM23, only the leagues made available on that version of the game will be available to be added. Any subsequent leagues added in FM24 will require a new save file created on the new game version.

The save will have full compatibility with all features and content made available in FM24.

Only FMC PC from the MS Store as this is compatible with FMC on Xbox.

No. Any FM24 achievements must be unlocked via a new save file created on FM24 itself.

The original file will be made available to continue playing on FM23. Any progress made on FM24 will not be backwards compatible.

All players must be running the same version as the hosts server.
