Football might be known as ‘the beautiful game’ but it is often chaotic and unpredictable with frequent changes of possession, fluid movement across the pitch and endless battles between attacking and defensive units.
FM21 simulates this controlled chaos better than ever before with a raft of AI improvements across all areas of the pitch that lead to much more variety in the passage of play over the course of a match.
In this blog, we’re going to be covering every area of the pitch, including:
We’re delighted to confirm the November 24th release date of Football Manager 2021 Mobile which is now available for pre-order on the App Store and for pre-registration on Google Play.
When COVID-19 first brought the world to a virtual standstill a few months ago (although it seems like years at this point) people started to ask us via social media if we were going to update FM20 to include the virus and its effects.
We decided not to.
Football Manager returns to Xbox for the first time since the 2007/08 season with Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition.

Saturday, 23rd May. The day there should be a team in Wembley lifting a trophy.
Four weeks ago, 54 EFL clubs and their virtual managers came together for the inaugural EFL Football Manager Cup. By Saturday 16th May, only four sides remained. Over the course of two dramatic live streams, featuring a tense local derby, two great comebacks, last-minute winners and a nail-biting penalty shootout, Brentford fan Sam Jacques led his side to glory.
Like most of you, we were missing our regular football fix, so this tournament was set up to try and keep people entertained. The tournament was run in conjunction with the EFL and their charity partner Mind, the mental health charity, who are doing great work to support everyone who may be struggling during these challenging times.
54 teams started in the EFL Football Manager Cup almost a month ago with the same ambition: glory. 50 matches and a multitude of dramatic moments and classic interviews later, only four sides still have a chance of lifting the virtual trophy – Nottingham Forest, Swansea City, Brentford and Fulham.
All four clubs were Championship play-off contenders before the lockdown came into effect and it really is too hard to call who will go all the way going into the final three matches.
The semi finals of the tournament, which is being run in partnership with the EFL and their charity partner Mind, will both be played and streamed through the official Football Manager Twitch channel on Saturday 16th May.
The quarter finals were undoubtedly the most closely contested round of the EFL Football Manager Cup yet. As the tournament heads into the semi-finals and finals this weekend, the competitiveness was ramped up to a new level. We saw a couple of shock results, extra-time drama and a thrilling last minute winner. Here’s the full round-up.
